SearchIndexer.exe Microsoft Windows Search Indexer is a Windows service that indexes your files. SearchIndexer.exe is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32. Known file sizes on Windows 10 are 439,810 bytes (42%) of all occurrences.

The application is not visible to users. This is a file that is signed by Microsoft. This is not a Windows system process. Therefore the technical security rating is 13% dangerous. Whenever a user has any files or program in the search, this file indexes and displays the result. This file is also responsible for the process named “Windows Desktop”

Important: Some malware camouflage themselves as SearchIndexer.exe, particularly if they are located in the C:\Windows or C:\Windows\system32 folder. Thus check the SearchIndexer.exe process on your pc whether it is a pest.

Cybercriminals develop programs that have the same name SearchIndexer.exe but actually, there is malware and viruses. But they are easily detected because the location is not in the System32 folder.
