Gemini 4 Argon Is Coming to Antigravity: Model Picker Labels Found in App 2.23.0

TL;DR: Google’s Antigravity desktop app 2.23.0, released October 12, 2026, contains the model IDs gemini-4-argon, gemini-4-argon-low, gemini-4-argon-medium and gemini-4-argon-high. It also has the menu labels “Gemini 4 Argon (Low)”, “(Medium)” and “(High)”, written in the same style as every model you can already pick. Version 2.22.0 had none of these. Argon is not selectable yet. On the same day, Gemini 3.1 Pro, 3.6 Flash and 3.7 Flash dropped out of the Antigravity CLI model list.

What we found

We track every official Antigravity build automatically. Our monitor picks up new releases from Google’s own update servers and scans each binary for model names. Shortly after midnight on October 13 it flagged the new desktop app version 2.23.0. We scanned the official Linux build, which shares its language server code with Windows and macOS.

Gemini 3.1 Ultra Is Hiding in Antigravity CLI 1.3.1 — We Checked the Binary

TL;DR: The model string gemini-3.1-ultra really is inside Google’s Antigravity CLI (agy) version 1.3.1, and it was not there in version 1.1.21. But the model is not available to use yet. It doesn’t show up in agy models, and the CLI rejects it if you try to select it. It shows up one week after Google announced Gemini 4 Argon, and it’s the first time “Ultra” has appeared as a Gemini model name since Gemini 1.0.

The claim

A post on X said that gemini-3.1-ultra “just showed up” in the Antigravity CLI 1.3.1 binary and wasn’t in the previous build. The source was a binary audit of google-antigravity/antigravity-cli. Since that GitHub repository holds only documentation, there’s no source code to check. The only way to verify the claim is to look inside the shipped binary. So we did.

How we checked

Our test machine is Windows 11 with Antigravity CLI installed at %LOCALAPPDATA%\agy\bin\agy.exe. Continue reading “Gemini 3.1 Ultra Is Hiding in Antigravity CLI 1.3.1 — We Checked the Binary”
