how to use dynamic lock in windows 10

Lock your Windows 10 PC automatically when you step away from it

If you forget to lock your PC or tablet when you step away, Windows Hello can use a phone that’s paired with your device to automatically lock it shortly after you’re out of Bluetooth range. To set things up, you’ll need to use Bluetooth to pair your phone with your PC and select the check box under Dynamic lock.

1- Use Bluetooth to pair your phone with your PC. Learn how to pair devices using Bluetooth.
2- On your Windows 10 PC, select the Start button > Settings Gear-shaped Settings icon > Accounts > Sign-in options.
3- Under Dynamic lock, select the Allow Windows to detect when you’re away and automatically lock the device check box.
4- Take your phone with you when you move away from your PC, and it will automatically lock a minute or so after you’re out of Bluetooth range. (Note that Bluetooth range varies by devices.)

  1. I can’t select the Allow Windows to detect when you’re away and automatically lock the device check box.

    1. You have to turn on Bluetooth on your PC first, and then connects your device

  2. It does not work. How should it know, which device I want to use for dynamic locking? I have my phone (Android 8.1) paired with the PC, as well as a load of other devices. And I have allowed windows to automaticallu lock the device. But It just does not anyways. What if I get a new company phone and want to give the other one away, but still want to be able to be paired, but not unlocking my device? There is no clear way to select, what would be my trusted devices, or what devices Windows even considers to have for the locking. I would prefer my sports watch to do it. So why can’t I select it? My bt mouse, ofcourse stays with my PC. It feel like half-baked solution, very unclear and therefore unsafe.
